Shanaya Kapoor, daughter of Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor, is all set to make her much-anticipated Bollywood debut with the musical romance Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. The first official poster of the film was unveiled recently on social media by both Shanaya and her co-star Vikrant Massey, sparking excitement among fans and industry insiders alike.
Among the first to react were Shanaya’s close friends and fellow actresses. Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, who is preparing for her own debut with King, shared the poster on her Instagram with the caption, “Can’t wait.” Ananya Panday, another close friend of Shanaya, expressed her enthusiasm with a playful comment, “Booked!! Seated!! Excited.”
The post also drew warm wishes from other prominent figures in the film industry. Shweta Bachchan wrote, “So excited for you darling. All the best,” while acclaimed filmmaker Zoya Akhtar showed her support with heart emojis. Rasha Thadani added, “Yayyyy congratulations,” celebrating Shanaya’s milestone.
Actor Arjun Kapoor shared the poster too, praising Shanaya’s perseverance: “Patience always pays off in the most beautiful ways. So, so, soooo proud of you @shanayakapoor02 for holding on with such grace and faith. Wishing you all the very best for this one—it’s going to be incredible.”
Shanaya’s mother, Maheep Kapoor, has spoken about her daughter’s grounded nature and hard work, noting that Shanaya has witnessed her father’s struggles and is now focused on building her own career with several projects lined up.
In a candid interview, Shanaya revealed a personal side rarely seen by the public. She shared how basketball has been a private passion and a source of comfort, saying, “People are shocked when I post pictures of me playing [basketball]… Basketball always felt very much like coming home to me; it was very personal. So it was something that I wanted to keep to myself for a while, but now I feel confident to show that side of myself.”
